ACT districts
The 11 district pages we publish for the ACT, in alphabetical order, each linked to its own page.
The ACT has no councils, so its pages are its districts, the areas its land is administered by: how many of each district’s addresses are on a block in the Bushfire Prone Area or the 1% AEP riverine flood model, and what a report reads there. A district with under 100 addresses in the live build is on the hazard map and has no page. A report can be bought for most addresses in the ACT; a house the ACT address register does not hold, or an address whose block or zone cannot be identified, is refused before payment. Each page links to the free check.
Check an address in the ACTThe check is free and tells you which registers cover the address before you pay anything. A report for an address in the ACT is $9.90 including GST, paid once.
Hazard maps in each district
The ACT has no councils, so its figures are by district. For each, the share of its addresses whose block is at least partly in the ACT Emergency Services Agency’s Bushfire Prone Area, any category, 1 to 3, or the buffer, and the number of its addresses whose block is in the 1% AEP riverine flood model extent. The model covers the catchments of nine flood studies, only part of the Territory, so it is given as a count, not a share, and elsewhere flooding is not established. A district with a page leads with the same figures. These are what the maps show, not a risk rating, and the list is alphabetical.
Addresses, not homes: a building of units is many addresses on one block. Not mapped: the map was not read for the live build, so nothing is said about it. That does not mean there is no hazard. The flood model is dotted, as partly mapped: it covers the catchments of nine flood studies, only part of the Territory, so each district has a count of its addresses on a block at least partly in the modelled extent, not a share; elsewhere flooding is not established. Partly mapped: the map covers only part of the district, so no share is given. Other classes: the map records its own classes, so no share is given. No statistics: none is shown for that district.
Bushfire Prone Area: Every category counts, 1 to 3, and the buffer. The building rules also treat non-urban land as bushfire-prone whatever this map shows (Building (General) Regulation 2008, s 44). 1% AEP flood model: The model covers the catchments of nine flood studies, only part of the Territory, and gives no depth, and nothing about overland flow, burst pipes or overflowing lakes and dams. So this is a count, not a share: elsewhere flooding is not established either way.
We do not rank districts and we do not turn this into a safety score.
