Why Kingborough’s zones come from another instrument

Kingborough never transitioned to the Tasmanian Planning Scheme. Its Local Provisions Schedule is being assessed by the Tasmanian Planning Commission, and until it commences the instrument that applies is Kingborough Interim Planning Scheme 2015. We read that scheme’s zones and overlays from the layers theLIST publishes for it, and name them as the scheme names them: none of them is a Tasmanian Planning Scheme code.

Kingborough land is zoned and is subject to planning controls. The Tasmanian Planning Scheme registers above still publish nothing for Kingborough, and that is not a finding about the land: it is a fact about which instrument applies. When the schedule commences, the zones and the rules can change.
